Martha Lake News

Hello, Mustangs!
I am so proud of our community as we’ve embraced this difficult time with positivity- working together to make this year AMAZING for our kids.
Our talented staff is working hard to ensure our students’ remote learning experience is the best it can be.  We appreciate your patience as we are all embracing new learning.
Together, we are VIRTUALLY UNSTOPPABLE.

Thank you for waving and greeting staff in Thursday’s car parade.
Your joyful faces definitely recharged us!

We are so excited to see you on Tuesday at our distribution drive through.  Here are a few notes regarding our fun event:

·  1st – 5th graders: Bring your Chromebook and charger for exchange
·  On your dash, please have first & last name and phone number
·  Please remain in your cars the entire time.
·  Walkers, please keep 6 feet distance.
·  Return library/classroom books
·  Arriving at your designated times helps with traffic flow, your patience is appreciated

There is a pack of school supplies ready for every child.  You can donate to help with this supply cost at the drive through- cash or check (made out to Edmonds School District) is preferred, a card reader will also be available.  Not all supplies are included in this round of pick up, we have some items on back order.  We did coordinate with classroom teachers to ensure all critical supplies are included in this pack to begin the school year.  On that note, we will be coordinating drive through pick ups for additional supplies and materials from teachers monthly.

At Martha Lake, we value the importance of positive relationships with our students and families.  That’s why we will have half day instruction through Tuesday, Sept. 22nd.   Please look for communication from your classroom teacher to schedule a 25 minute Family Connection Meeting.

Our main office is open to assist you.  While we are not available face to face, we are happy to take your phone calls: 425.431.7766.  If needed, we can also meet you outside our office at a distance.  Please also take a moment to ensure that your contact information is updated in Skyward.  This is important because it is the database for contact from your teacher and school.

Looking forward to a wonderful year with you!

SEE you soon.

Ms. Tibbetts’ Has a Website - Check It Out

Hello, Martha Lake Students and Families:

Recently I read a book called A Little Spot Learns Online which goes over simple expectations for learning online at home.

It is geared towards younger kids but the expectations are relevant for all grade levels.

Please also check out the video on my NEW WEBSITE. These unique times have given me a chance to learn so many new skills - like creating a website.

I can’t wait to see you on Tuesday at our Martha Lake Elementary Drive Through. I’m here to help, so please call or email me if there is something I can help you with.
