One weekend down, one more to go for the roundabout project happening on SR 524/Filbert Road.

Both directions of SR 524/Filbert Road will close at Locust Way from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 to 6 a.m. Monday Oct. 1.

During each weekend closure, crews will:

·         Demolish the existing roadway

·         Construct a roundabout, including the center island and apron for larger vehicles and trucks

·         Lay down fresh asphalt

·         Install new signage and temporary striping

Crews will have signed detours in place for local residents as well as cars, small trucks/buses and cyclists who use SR 524 on the weekends. Here’s a link to see the detours:

Starting at 8:30 am in the library, the photographer will fit you in before/between classes. Tell them you are a school volunteer. When ready, your picture badge will be in the office.

Field Trip Chaperones Must Have a Volunteer Application Completed in Advance. Need a blank volunteer application, see the website, stop by the office, or click this link:  Blank Volunteer Packet.pdf or stop by the office.

Turn in your completed application as soon as you can so you’re all ready to go for the field trip and to volunteer elsewhere:

New packets must be done each school year. You can find the packet on the school website, and paper copies are in the office. We appreciate you wanting to be a volunteer. Thank you!

Edmonds School District has partnered with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association to provide “flu shot clinics” for our district.

Influenza is a serious and potentially dangerous disease. Each year students miss approximately 38 million school days due to the flu and each year parents miss more than 10 million workdays caring for their sick children.  According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the single best way to protect you and your family from influenza is to receive a “flu shot” each year. The CDC recommends that EVERYONE, over six months of age, should be vaccinated against the flu.

Clinics are open to School District staff, students and their families (children four years of age and older).   Those under the age of 18 will need a Patient Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian. Forms will also be available at the clinic. All participants will be asked to provide their health insurance information (card) to receive an immunization.

Students 18 years and under without current health insurance coverage will be offered a flu shot at no cost. Adults without current insurance coverage may pay the $40.00 immunization fee with cash or check.
