Hello, Martha Lake Mustangs and Families,

Theme for February – We Are Different and Alike

Week 3: Tough Choices

Have you talked with your student/s about how the time is always right to do what is right? Have you talked with them about what it means that Martha Lake Mustangs are RespectfulResponsible and Safe?

Enhanced Security Features Started 1-29-2018 at MLE

We started enhanced school security at Martha Lake Elementary on Monday, January 29, 2018. Doors of the school lock at 8:50 am, and open again at 3:11 pm.

To get inside the school, come to front doors nearest the flag pole. Press the white button at the panel on the far right side of the blue double-doors. The Martha Lake office will be able to see you and talk with you. They can unlock the door (it’s one of the  PAIR of doors on the FAR RIGHT SIDE) to let you in.

You must still come to the main office, sign in, and get a visitor/volunteer badge. The enhanced security measures do not replace signing in/out at the office every time.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or comments at:, or via the contact information below. We are here to help.

Wash Your Hands! – Help Prevent Spreading Germs

Especially Now During Cold and Flu Season

Practice a sneeze into your elbow with all age kids.  Encourage them to remember to use this if they sneeze or cough to not let the saliva fly and to remind others to use this technique. Here’s proper handwashing technique:

1) Get your paper towel down and ready

2) Turn on the water

3) Wet hands

4) Soap

5) Suds/scrub (practice 20 seconds of rubbing hands together covering all surfaces, front, back, between fingers, thumbs) They can do this all together with dry hands to form muscle memory

For little ones ABC song twice or "This is the way we wash our hands, wash our hands, wash our hands.  This is the way we wash our hands so early in the morning.  This is the way we get them clean, get them clean ...)

6) Rinse until all the suds and slipperiness is gone.

7) Use paper towel to dry hands and turn off faucet and open door of bathroom and then throw away. Explain why.

Get your flu shots if you have not!

Control + Click will show you a video about germs that you’ll never forget! Here’s the link:
