Parking Lot Safety
Unsafe Behavior in the Parking Lot

Creates Danger for Students and Families

Please Help Keep Students Safe
See attached PTA Safety Alert

●    DO use the curb lane to drop students off. DO NOT drop students off in the parking lot.

●    DO  park in the lot and walk your child across the crosswalk.  DO NOT park in the fire lanes.

●   DO turn into the lot and wait your turn in line. DO NOT skip the line and cut in front of the waiting cars.
From Larch Way,
DO NOT turn left into the lot. When parents are lined up on Larch Way to get into the lot, turning in front of that line is disrespectful to those waiting in line.

●    DO turn right out of the lot and use neighborhood streets to turn around or go the direction you need. DO NOT turn left out of the lot when crossing guards are present. DO NOT make u-turns on Larch on school days.  Signs are posted and violations are illegal.

●   DO drive slowly and with caution in the parking lot and on Larch Way.

REMEMBER, your choices are a model for your students and all other students.

Thank you for keeping students safe!

‘Donuts with Dad’

Re-Scheduled to Thurs 1-30-2020 @ 7:30 am

Fathers and Father-figures,

This Thursday January 30, 7:30 – 8:30 am is ‘Donuts with Dad’! Bring your student/s and meet in the school Library for FREE donuts and drinks and includes a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S.®

(Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S.®  is an innovative program In schools across America. It helps students be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. The goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and provide an extra set of eyes and ears.

‘Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers . . . this is your chance to have special time with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.

In order to participate, you need to do two things:

  1. Fill out the bottom portion of the attached and return it with your student (ASAP) saying that you will attend so we will have an accurate head count for the food.
  2. Mark your calendars. See you Thursday January 30 from 7:30-8:30 AM. Official WATCH D.O.G.S.® Uniform T-shirts for Dads (and ‘My Hero’ T-shirts for students) will be available to order.

Stay Healthy This Winter

There are steps to reduce the risk of getting sick, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces
  • If you are sick, stay at home away from others.

Voting Information – Important

to Edmonds School District

On the voting ballot, there are two important things for the Edmonds School District.

1) $600 million Capital Construction Bond, and

2) $96 million Replacement Technology/Capital Levy.

The Edmonds School District is committed to maintaining a level tax rate. They are designed for the tax rate to stay the same.

Design spaces for today’s standard for learning

The 2020 bond will help make space for current and future students.

Maintain advanced technology program for our students

The 2020 Replacement Technology/Capital Levy provides funding for technology for student learning and capital facilities improvements.

This means one-to-one computers in grades 2-12 and two students to one computer in grades K-1. The levy will also support classroom technology, teacher training and support as well as provide internet access for students at home who can’t afford this educational tool.

Take student safety to a new level

Student safety is our top priority. The 2020 Bond and Levy will provide funding for the district to continue to not only keep up with the latest safety, security and emergency preparedness improvements, but take our safety commitment to a new level with technology improvements, physical building/site improvements and training and support.

Please consider these as you choose your vote
